Cowboy hat

This past weekend was the Prosperi family reunion, this is my maternal grandmother's side of the family. It was really nice to see everyone, and colin had a good time playing with this second cousin Sam, who is also 2 years old. They had quite the non-verbal play time. The kids also had fun playing at nona and pap-paps house....i'll add a couple pics.

Nothing too crazy going on today, but colin did find his cowboy hat in the toy chest and decided it was a must to wear it all day today, everywhere we went. He did decide that it was way cooler to wear it side to side rather than front to back though...it really added that extra something to the look. Colin LOVES music...i'm pretty sure he's going to be a drummer, or a pianist. With every song that comes on, he grabs two items (not drumsticks, but anything will work...i've found that out the hard way) and starts banging them against the table to the music.

Andie is doing well, she just turned 11 months 2 days ago, and she's crawling EVERYWHERE now. She really took off this past weekend at my parents house. Since then, she has gotten pretty sassy with me. She's a girl with a mission now; to get into and destroy everything in sight. Should i try and interfere with that mission, she lets me know that's unacceptable. I'm also pretty sure she is saying a couple words now, although i second guess myself when she does because colin never spoke this early. the words i'm about 90% sure she says are "Hi, Whoa, and Yummy". With the HI! she will wave and say "hiiiii" I'm trying to get her to say momma, but no such luck yet. She does say dadda, but not to him yet which according to her pediatrician she could have mastered by 9 months?!?! Such high expectations these days...or ditsy nurses with wrong sheets.

Reptiles and Apples Oh My!

I learned something new today...my son is deathly afraid of Alligators. What the?!?! How did that happen? he does associate alligators with Thunder storms for some reason, and that always puzzled me. But now, i see that he thinks alligators are WAY scary.

Took the kids to "reptile world" at the Locust shade ampitheater...and i have to say, if colin should have been afraid of anything, it shouldn't have been the reptiles, yet the reptile OWNER. THat guy was crazy wierd with a capital W. Creepy even. He supplied WAY more information than a 2-6 year old could ever care to know about the reptiles...they just want to see them for God sake! The way he talked, you think he was presenting a thesis on cold blooded animals to a board of biologists from far away Jungle conservations. Just fair warning Annapolisians...he hails from Annapolis. When any man says "my brother starting collecting crocodiles at age 10" you need to ask yourself, what 10 year old has enough money/resources/land to collect crocodiles? Then you need to ask yourself, is this guy sane?!?!?
Anywho...when the guy pulled out the alligator after his 20 minute speal about it, colin flipped out! screaming "NO MOMMA" NOOOOOOOO with big "alligator" tears streaming down his face, and i couldn't get him to settle down. So we were outta there. I noticed the "Creme Camp" was at this event. The Creme de La Creme kids could easily be spotted, as they were the only group that brought their own umbrellas to the show to shade themselves from the sun. Just an observation.

We were off to Wegmans then this afternoon for a shopping trip. I DREAD bringing both kids, namely Colin, with me because qutie frankly he's a nightmare there. The first snafoo was when he snatched a "mini apple" (which ended up costing me freakin 56 cents for 1 miniscule apple) and started munching on it immediately. i mean, whatever, i dont' get too worked up over these things, but i would have liked to have washed it first so he wasn't injesting pesticides. Next time, i'd like it if he chose a cheaper fruit, maybe a banana?

promise will start adding photos soon. gotta go change a 2 year olds crappy diaper. ugh.

Butt, OK, poop, and kisses

I've decided, enough is enough, i need to be blogging about my day to day adventures in being the mommy of colin and andie. Time flies by so quickly, and they do so many exasperating things, that I need to make sure I'll remember it! I also want to share my experiences with my friends and family, because lets face it, sometimes it's just nice to sit back and laugh at someone elses blunders.
So, lets play a bit of catch up. I'm going back to YESTERDAY. So, although this may be TMI...i'm blogging about it, because it's just too damn funny not too. Colin is a BIT behind on his speech, but it seems that he is catching up rather quickly now. That's GREAT...except now i need to remember that, he's 2, and 2 year olds feel that they should share all information with friends, family, and strangers alike.
SO, after having these 2 precious children, my body has some wear. I'm not gonna lie...some of it isn't pretty. At the ripe ol' age of 28, I already am experiencing things, that some may argue shouldn't be experienced till much older, if ever. OK...so yesterday was a battle, uh with the bottom part of me. And so i went "potty" and of course since the days of going "potty" alone are long gone, colin was in there with me. I made the mistake of saying "ow, mommy's butt hurts". The rest of the afternoon colin would walk around saying "Butt" "momma, OWWIE". and point there. Well, i decide i need to go to the pharmacy and get something for this problem. So we walk in, colin andie and myself, and colin starts SHOUTING. BUTT BUTT BUTT BUTT BUTT the whole way through the store. We then get to the section and i pick up my butt issue medication and start walking to the cash register. Colin then informs the clerk "Momma, Butt, OWIE!" JUST in case this poor indian man wasn't aware of what the product was for, colin made it quite clear. They both had a laugh, i was a bit mortified.

On to today.
I just have to say that colin probably has the kindest heart of any 2 year old boy I know. Don't get me wrong, he is VERY ornery, but with other kids he is very gentle, and kind. This morning he walked over to andie's crib and said "HI BABY" then gave her a big kiss. he's such a sweetie.

Colin woke up this morning with a new 'word". OK. It's so cute...he says "OK" to everything now. Love it.

After walk N roll was over this morning, i decided to head up the mall to H&M to pick up a couple outfits for the kids. I can't resist that place for them. I like the rocker style, have you. All is well until andie starts crying. I pick her up, and low and behold...she poops all over me, out of her diaper onto my nice white workout top. I now smell like a rotting pile of garbage and have to head the check out with poop on me. Is there ever a dull moment?!

This afternoon we headed to Petco to pick up Magnus dog food. Colin LOVES going there because they have the mini-his size shopping carts to push around. He looked like the proudest 2 year old on the planet, he was stearing it all around, throwing things into the basket, only stopping to look at the animals. He also decided it was a fabulous idea to kiss each glass casing of animals. I"m pretty sure this is unsanitary, but he kissed the mice glass cage, fish tanks, turtle cage etc. he loves animals...and i love disease.
signing of for today!
